The Art of the Knot: A Peek into My Slow Process

byDeeDelivered across BengaluruView full gallery

Ever wondered how a simple thread turns into a statement piece? I love sharing the meditative, slow process behind every knot, bloom, and braid I make in my Bengaluru studio.

Knot by knot, a perfect bloom comes to life. This macrame flower was way too pretty not to share. I make these to use as charms on my bags or as standalone decorative pieces.

I love making these patterned macrame bag straps. They are so versatile and can be attached to any of your existing bags to give them a fresh, bohemian look. One of these was even ordered to be used with a leather bag.

I'm trying my hands on a craft called Tricotin. It's amazing how beautiful, colorful cords can be made from simple threads. I'm exploring all the new things I can create with this technique.

About this collection

I often get asked why I choose to make every piece, from bag straps to floral charms, by hand. It really comes down to the control I have over every knot. When you handle the thread yourself, you can feel the tension in the cotton rope and ensure it is tight enough to hold up for years of daily use. It is a slow, quiet process, but it ensures that what you receive is not just an accessory, but something built to last.

Why Handmade Matters

When I work with macrame, I am not just creating a product. I am working with natural materials like soft cotton yarn, jute, and bamboo. My process is very much about patience—knot by knot, I build structures that provide both aesthetic beauty and structural integrity.

The Tools and Techniques

Whether I am using a Tricotin tool to create colorful, playful cords or working on complex geometric tribal patterns for a choker, every step is manual.

  • Material Prep: I use 3mm to 4mm heavy-duty braided cotton cord for my bags because it needs to carry weight.
  • Detailed Knotting: For my 3D floral motifs, I focus on spacing so the cotton does not snag your hair.
  • Finishing: Every fringe is trimmed and every bamboo handle is secured by hand.

Customization is Key

Because nothing I make is mass-produced, you have a say in the final look. If you want a specific pastel shade for a headband or a custom size for a waist belt, we can make it happen. Since I make everything after you place an order, I can adjust the colors and patterns to match your vibe perfectly. It takes a little more time than buying off a shelf, but the result is a piece that feels like it was made just for you. 🌸✨
