About The Finishing Touch: Tikas, Rings & More
When it comes to tikas and rings, weight is often the deal-breaker. We design our maang tikas with a flexible hook base and lightweight copper, ensuring they sit flat on your forehead without sliding or pulling your hair. Whether it is a heavy-looking kundan piece or a delicate filigree ring, you can wear these for hours without the usual headache or discomfort.
The right accessory is like the final punctuation in a sentence—it makes everything come together. My focus here is on pieces that don't weigh you down.
Why Lightweight Matters
Most traditional tikas and rings use heavy alloys that can cause skin irritation or leave your ears and head aching by the end of an event. At Bindhani, we use a quality copper or brass base that is hypoallergenic and keeps the weight minimal. My team and I put significant effort into the engineering of our maang tikas, using flexible hooks and soft backings so they contour perfectly to your forehead. You get that grand, festive look without the ‘heavy’ feeling.
Customization is Key
We know the struggle of finding a matching accessory for a specific saree or suit—'yaar, abhi earrings nahi mil rahi hai same color mein!' (friend, I can't find matching earrings, what to do?). That is exactly why we offer color customization for our meenakari and stone-work pieces. If you like a design in our gallery but need it in a different shade to match your outfit, just ask. We love working with you to create something that feels like it was made just for your look.
Our Process
Every piece in this collection, from our peacock rings to our delicate anklets, is handmade by our all-women team in Bengaluru. We avoid big machines to keep the craft pure. What you see is what you get: raw copper, vibrant meenakari enamel, and polished stones, all assembled with patience and care. When you wear a Bindhani piece, you are wearing a bit of our parampara (tradition) and our dedication to slow, honest fashion.
Bindhani
Hi, I am the person behind Bindhani. We are a small, women-led team here in Bengaluru crafting jewellery that does not just look good but feels right. These accessories are my favorite small projects because they are often the missing piece that completes your entire outfit.
