About this collection
I do not believe in one size fits all when it comes to pet care. A Husky puppy like Ghost needs a different level of stimulation and chew-toy engagement compared to an older Shih Tzu who might prefer quiet companionship. I observe each dog's energy level and social cues within the first hour of their stay, adjusting their routine and exercise to ensure they feel secure and happy, not overwhelmed.
Understanding Breed Needs
Managing a multi-breed environment requires more than just space. It requires an understanding of breed-specific traits. High-energy breeds like Huskies or Labradors need consistent physical outlets. That is why I include rigorous leashed walks on public roads—it burns off the energy that often leads to anxiety when pets are kept in confined kennels. For small, gentle breeds like Shih Tzus or Pugs, the focus shifts to a low-stress social environment where they can interact without being physically overwhelmed by larger, more boisterous playmates.
Why Cage-Free Works
Traditional kennels often isolate pets in wire crates, which can lead to behavioral regression. In my JP Nagar home, the layout is designed for free movement. There are no barriers to where they can nap or lounge. This freedom allows dogs to self-regulate; if they need space, they can retreat to a quiet corner. If they want to play, they can join the group. This constant supervision ensures that socialization is positive, safe, and controlled.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you mix all breeds together? Socialization is carefully managed. I assess every new guest’s temperament before introducing them to the group. If a dog is shy or reactive, they get their own space and one-on-one time.
How do you handle shedding? For double-coated breeds like Huskies, I perform daily brushing as part of the standard care routine to manage shedding and keep their coat healthy during their stay.
