People often ask why a criminal defense lawyer spends time on stage. The truth is that whether I am drafting a bail application or writing a stanza, the intent remains the same: I listen to the unspoken story. Understanding the nuance of human emotion is exactly what helps me build a more empathetic and effective case for my clients in court.

A funny lesson I learned: my job is to provide legal advice, not sermons. A client once changed lawyers because he was ashamed to face me after getting into trouble again. My focus is on legal strategy, not moral judgment.27
My advice to young advocates: the goal is to become a successful lawyer, not just to earn money quickly. A senior and a chamber teach you discipline. If you don't learn, you will get lost in this vast ocean of the legal profession.
It is not right to take free service from freshers in the name of teaching them. A junior lawyer's financial situation might not be what yours was. Provide a supportive, family-like environment and enough support so they don't have to ask for money from home.
