From Concept to Construction: Transforming Designs into Reality

A direct look at the transition from 3D conceptual renders to the raw, tangible reality of the construction site.

This is the final 3D render for Mr. Bhavesh's residence in Bangalore, showing a complex facade of concrete, steel, and integrated green spaces.

The same project for Mr. Bhavesh, seen here under construction. This image reveals the raw brick and concrete structure that forms the bones of the final design.

An under-construction view of a lightwell inspired by Indian step-wells. The photo shows the multi-level concrete slabs and the raw brick walls that will eventually be finished.

This is an animated walkthrough of the "Unbuilt Scheme," showing the conceptual design with its internal courtyards, water features, and play of light.

A raw construction photo of a concrete staircase. The play of natural light on the unfinished surfaces highlights the beauty of the structure itself.

Another view of the lightwell under construction, showing the wooden formwork and supports. This stage is critical for establishing the home's spatial quality.

About this collection

A 3D render is only a starting point. True architectural quality depends entirely on what happens on site, from checking the reinforcement binding and formwork quality to ensuring the exposed concrete finish aligns with the original vision.

Architecture is rarely as clean as a render. When I take a project from concept to construction, my focus shifts to the technical reality of building.

The Technical Gap

Between the 3D model and the finished home lies the construction phase. This is where site-specific decisions happen. I provide civil working drawings—dimensioned plans, centerline layouts, and excavation markings—that act as the roadmap for the structure.

Site Supervision

My service is not just about handing over a set of drawings. I conduct scheduled site visits to oversee the reinforcement binding, shuttering, and brickwork. This is essential for achieving the clean, minimalist aesthetic I am known for. If the concrete is not poured correctly or the steel is not aligned, the design fails.

Material Honesty

I work with raw materials like exposed brick and concrete. These do not hide behind plaster. They require precise joinery and careful handling during the construction phase to ensure they age well and retain their texture. Whether it is a cantilevered staircase or a double-height lightwell, the construction drawings must account for the structural load and the final aesthetic finish simultaneously.

If you are planning a residential project in Bangalore, understand that the outcome is a product of this collaboration between designer and site contractor.

I am Sandesh. I believe architecture is defined by the construction site as much as the drafting board. I do not just hand over drawings; I oversee the translation of lines and volumes into concrete, steel, and brick.
