Featured Saree Draping & Pre-pleating
A look at my work with Kanchipuram silks and wedding drapes. I focus on precise, stress-free pre-pleating so your saree looks perfect from the first minute to the last.
This is the result I aim for with every saree. The pleats are perfectly uniform and crisp, especially on a beautiful Kanjivaram silk like this one, making it ready for any grand occasion.
From taking the saree out of its box to the final fold, I want to show you the care I put into the pre-pleating process. I use a steam iron to set the pleats perfectly, ensuring your saree is safe and looks flawless.
It's a journey from a flat piece of cloth to a stunning final drape. Here you can see my process of steam ironing the pleats and the beautiful result on my client for her special day.
This is why I do what I do. Helping a bride like Abirami get ready with a perfectly draped saree, without any stress, is incredibly rewarding. The pleats fall perfectly, just as they should.
I often work on bulk orders for entire wedding parties. Here’s a look at a set of five beautiful sarees I pre-pleated for a bride, her bridesmaids, and family members.
To get the best results, having the right tools is very important. I always use a good quality steam iron for silk sarees, as it sets the pleats without damaging the delicate fabric.
This is my travel-friendly box fold. After pleating, I pack the saree neatly so you can easily store it or ship it anywhere in the world, and it will be ready to wear when you need it.
About Featured
Before any saree gets pleated, I always check the specific fabric type to determine the exact heat setting for my steam iron. Whether it is a heavy Kanchipuram silk or a lighter weave, getting the temperature right is the only way to lock those pleats firmly without damaging the delicate zari. This small, careful step is why your drape stays crisp through the longest wedding rituals without needing constant tugging or adjustments.
Getting ready for a wedding should be about excitement, not stressing over whether your pleats are right. That is why I started pre-pleating. When I handle your silk saree, I am not just folding it; I am preparing it for your day.
How I Prep Your Saree
- Fabric Analysis: Not every silk is the same. I test the fabric to ensure the steam iron settings are safe.
- Custom Measurements: I do not believe in one-size-fits-all. I customize the height and waist fit based on your measurements so the saree sits exactly where it should.
- The Steam Finish: Using a steam iron allows me to create sharp, uniform pleats that hold their shape. This is especially important for heavy bridal Kanjivarams.
- Security: I use rust-proof pins strategically so you stay comfortable and secure, no matter how many hours the event lasts.
Travel & Storage
If you are traveling for a destination wedding, I offer two ways to pack your pre-pleated saree. The Box Fold is compact and perfect for suitcases. If you have space, the Hanger Fold keeps the pleats fluffy and gravity-defying, ready to wear the moment you take it out of the closet. Whether you are in Chennai or sending your sarees from across the country, I handle every piece as if it were my own.
