About this collection
Art is arpanam—an offering. At our Sanjaynagar centre, Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music students learn to treat every performance as a devotional practice. Unlike standard dance schools, our students gain confidence through regular, intimate stage opportunities at our heritage auditorium during events like Pournami, where they perform for a quiet, appreciative community.
The Practice of Devotion
Our approach to natya (dance) and sangeetham (music) differs from conventional institutes. We teach students to see their art as a form of self-inquiry (aatma vichara). By learning under experienced Gurus, students delve into the technicalities of Carnatic vocal music and Bharatanatyam gestures while simultaneously absorbing the shlokas and stories that provide the emotional foundation for these art forms.
The Learning Environment
Classes are conducted at the Ramana Maharshi Heritage Auditorium and our meditation halls in Sanjaynagar. This setting is intentional. It removes the pressure of competitive performance and replaces it with the tranquility required for focused learning. Students have the opportunity to participate in our monthly Pournami celebrations, giving them a consistent, low-stress venue to showcase their progress.
Curriculum Focus
We prioritize authenticity. Music students master Ramananjali Sangeetham, ensuring they understand the spiritual depth of the compositions they sing. Dance students engage with the rigors of Bharatanatyam, learning that every mudra and movement serves a higher purpose. Whether you are a beginner or looking to deepen your existing practice, our doors are open to those seeking discipline, culture, and a deeper connection to themselves.
Ramana Maharshi Centre for Learning
We started this centre to keep the flame of Bhagavan Ramana’s teachings alive through art. We see music and dance as a natural path to inner peace, helping students find their own rhythm in a busy world.
