The Iyengar Method: Philosophy in Practice

This is the 'why' behind my teaching. I see yoga not as a performance, but as a conversation with yourself, where alignment of the body leads to alignment of awareness. These clips share the core principles that guide our practice, moving beyond the physical postures to explore the deeper, intellectual, and meditative aspects of yoga.

Props as Tools for Discovery

In my studio, you will find chairs, blocks, bolsters, and belts. These are not crutches, but sophisticated tools that make yoga accessible and insightful for everyone, regardless of age, flexibility, or injury. Props help you understand correct alignment, hold poses longer to experience their full benefits, and explore advanced asanas safely.

Yoga with Wall Ropes (Yoga Kurunta)

The wall ropes are one of the most unique and effective tools in Iyengar yoga, allowing for a practice that is both dynamic and restorative. Using the ropes, we can hang, swing, and stretch in ways that decompress the spine, build upper body strength, and bring a wonderful sense of freedom and playfulness to our asana practice.

Mastering Inversions: Sirsasana & Sarvangasana

Sirsasana (Headstand) and Sarvangasana (Shoulderstand) are cornerstones of yoga practice, known for their profound effects on the nervous and endocrine systems. I teach these powerful asanas with a focus on safety, preparation, and precise alignment, using props and the wall to build a sustainable practice that you can maintain for years.

The Art of the Backbend & Forward Extension

Backbends are exhilarating and energizing, while forward extensions are calming and introspective. In my classes, we explore both categories of asanas with intelligence and care. You will learn how to use your breath and props to create space and length, moving safely into deeper expressions of these powerful poses.

Yoga for Peak Performance: Athletes & Dancers

I specialize in creating yoga programs for athletes and dancers to enhance performance, aid in recovery, and prevent injuries. By focusing on alignment, stability, and mindful movement, we build a practice that supports and enables the specific demands of your sport or art form. This includes my work with professional tennis players and classical dancers.

Therapeutic Focus: Wrists, Shoulders & Pain Management

Many people come to yoga seeking relief from pain or discomfort. The Iyengar method offers specific, intelligent techniques to address issues like wrist pain, shoulder stiffness, and neck strain. We use props and precise actions to re-educate the body, building strength and mobility to create a pain-free practice.

Workshops, Courses & Community

Beyond regular classes, I offer specialized workshops, in-depth courses, and international retreats. These events are a chance to dive deeper into specific aspects of yoga, from wall rope techniques to practices for women's health. They are also wonderful opportunities to connect with a vibrant and supportive community of fellow practitioners.

Additional Poses & Explorations
