- Act fast. Block your cards and online transactions immediately by calling your bank.
- Dial 1930, the National Cybercrime Helpline. File a complaint and keep that complaint number safe.
- Email a detailed complaint to your bank’s head office and CC the RBI. This puts pressure on the bank and creates a formal record.
Collect Strong Evidence
- Gather every bit of proof: chat screenshots, call logs, transaction details, reference numbers, and a full written account.
- Pro tip: Delete the scammer’s saved name from WhatsApp before taking screenshots so their real number shows up. Judges and police trust numbers more than nicknames.
