Standard STEAM Construction Workshop
Session Logistics
- Duration: 120 minutes of active building time.
- Ratio: Small group format (10 to 15 kids) with 1 expert mentor for technical guidance.
- Tools: Unlimited access to sanitized, uniform pine or beech wood planks during the session.
Engineering Concepts
- Physics: Practical application of centre of gravity, load distribution, and fulcrums.
- Technique: Building without glue, connectors, or magnets; relies entirely on balance and geometry.
Activity Scope
- Structures: Creation of vertical towers, cantilever bridges, spirals, and geometric enclosures.
- Outcome: Digital photos of completed work taken by the team (structures are dismantled at the end).
- Note: This is a process-oriented workshop; materials are loaned and not for take-home.
Advanced Cognitive Engineering Workshop
Advanced Format
- Duration: Extended 2 to 2.5 hours session.
- Batch Size: Restricted capacity for individual cognitive assessment and detailed coaching.
- Focus: Designed for left/right brain balancing and logic puzzle solving.
Complex Curriculum
- Blueprint Reading: Translating 2D diagrams into 3D structures without step-by-step instructions.
- Kinetic Builds: Creation of functional contraptions like ball runs and domino effects.
- Failure Analysis: Structural destruction analysis to understand resilience and improve critical thinking.
Expert Support
- Mentorship: Senior instructor facilitates frustration management during high-difficulty builds.
- Materials: Access to advanced plank quantities and auxiliary targets (balls or weights) for testing.
Parent-Child Collaborative Workshop
Pair Entitlements
- Capacity: Covers entry and workshop materials for 2 participants (1 Adult + 1 Child).
- Inventory: Access to a high volume of planks (approx 500+) to support large-scale adult-sized structures.
- Duration: 120 minutes of joint activity.
Collaborative Challenges
- Twin-Building: Duo works on a single massive project like a floor-to-ceiling tower or walkable bridge.
- Role Reversal: Child acts as Architect (instruction) and Parent as Builder (execution) to improve communication.
- Facilitation: Mentors mediate the dynamic to ensure balanced participation between parent and child.
About Children's STEAM & Skill-Building Workshops
Why We Build
I see blocks as more than toys - they're a way for kids to learn by doing. When children build together, they actually understand what words like gravity and balance mean because they feel it in their hands. Mixing art into STEM (so, STEAM) lets kids use both logic and creativity, which helps them focus and stay in the zone.
What Happens in a Workshop
- Every child gets the same wooden planks - no glue, no interlocking, no screens.
- It's just gravity and imagination. Kids can build whatever they imagine, guided by us when needed.
- The sessions feel calm and almost meditative at times, but there's always this buzz of ideas and excitement.
STEAM in Action
- While stacking, kids pick up real-world physics and math (like symmetry, patterns, and ratios) without formal lessons.
- We turn every build into a mini hands-on physics activity for kids.
- They try out being architects, engineers, and artists, all at once.
More Than Just Building
- Kids learn patience - towers fall, but so what, they try again.
- Collaboration is big here. Everyone gets a chance to talk, share, and build together.
- We welcome everyone: neurotypical, neurodiverse, and specially-abled kids. Everyone fits in.
Formats for Every Child
- STEAM & Brain Gym workshops for sharper thinking.
- Open-ended creative problem-solving sessions for kids.
- Holiday camps and even birthday parties or local events (we love a good habba!).
Every session aims to build confidence, not just towers.

My Story
We’re Build-It. We got this idea from watching how kids struggle with boring maths and science in school. Why not make it fun, right? So we started with simple wooden planks—no fancy tech, just pure imagination. Kids (and adults!) get hooked, building whatever pops into their head. We see it at places like Mitra Habba—neurodiverse, shy, loud, everyone joins in. It’s not about perfect towers, it’s about that spark in their eyes. That’s what we love.
My Work
What we do - We run open-ended play workshops and brain gym sessions with wooden planks for kids, families, schools, and even corporate events.
Open-Ended Play - No rules, no goals—just build, break, and try again. Every time is different. Imagination leads the way.
STEAM, but hands-on - We sneak in science, math, art, and more. Kids get to try out balance, patterns, geometry, all that, while playing.
Skills for life - It’s more than play—think motor skills, focus, problem-solving, and even talking to each other. Everyone learns something.
Where you’ll find us - We’re all over Bangalore—community events, studios, schools, you name it. Especially love working with neurodiverse kids.
