About The 'Law Daddyy': Balancing Career & Family
People often ask me how I manage the immense pressure of criminal litigation alongside being a present father. It is not about having more hours in the day, but about being intentional with the ones you have. Whether I am teaching my son the basics of law or preparing for a High Court hearing, my philosophy stays the same: focus on the task, value the people, and always keep moving forward.
Building a legal career is a marathon, not a sprint. I see too many young lawyers burning out because they think working 18-hour days is the only way to prove their worth. It is not. My practice at the Delhi High Court thrives because I have built a system that delegates, documents, and respects necessary boundaries.
If you are struggling to find that balance, start by auditing your workflow. Are you handling tasks that a junior could manage? Are you using the resources available, like the excellent creche facilities at the Delhi High Court for parents? These are practical pivots that change your day-to-day reality immediately.
My mentorship sessions go deep into this. We do not just talk about drafting or cross-examination techniques. We talk about how to keep your sanity while building a reputation as a fierce advocate. From strategies on getting empaneled with committees like the DHCLSC to managing your first few clients, I break down the process into actionable steps. You will learn how to build authority—both in court and on your professional channels—without losing yourself in the process. Remember, you can be over-educated and over-dressed, but you should never be so overworked that you forget why you started.
