For me, Tanjore painting is more than a hobby - it’s my sadhana. There’s something meditative about sitting with your canvas, letting time slip away as you build up layer after layer. My amma (mom) taught me this craft, and I’m just passing forward what’s been in my family for 40 years.

Who Can Join?

You don’t need to know how to draw. Seriously, many who walk in say they can’t draw a straight line. Doesn’t matter. If you have patience and a bit of passion, you’ll pick it up. I’ve taught everyone from dentists to school kids - everyone brings their own vibe.

What We’ll Do Together

• Prepping your board and sketching your chosen deity
• Mixing and applying the gesso paste to get that classic 3D feel
• Setting Kundan stones or Swarovski crystals for sparkle
• Laying down 24k gold foil (yes, real gold!)
• Painting details, especially the eyes - that’s where the soul comes alive

Online or Studio - Your Choice

You can join classes at my Basavanagudi studio in Bangalore with a group of art lovers, or learn from anywhere with my online Tanjore painting course. Both ways, I keep the sessions detailed and hands-on.
