- Safety: Placement of metal eye shields to block laser light completely.
Laser Execution
- Vaporization: Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser blasts off the carbon layer.
- Sensory Experience: Loud snapping noise, prickling heat, and smell of burning carbon.
- Duration: 10-12 minutes of active laser work.
Post-Treatment
- Cleanup: Removal of carbon dust and application of cooling gel.

- Step one: Stop new acne from popping up. No point treating scars if breakouts keep coming.
- I look for what's actually causing your breakouts - hormones, oil, stress, whatever.
- Your plan is always personal. Sometimes it's medicated creams, sometimes treatments like Carbon Laser Peel or Skinpulse SSR laser for oily, stubborn skin.
How I Treat Scars
Once your skin calms down, we go after the scars. Not every scar is the same, so options change depending on what you need.
- Deep scars? CO2 laser for acne scars works best, but it does need about a week or two of downtime.
- Rolling or boxcar scars? I use microneedling for deep scars - sometimes with radio frequency, sometimes with PRP, depends on your skin.
- For lighter marks, sometimes a chemical peel or subcision works better.
What You Should Know
