I design durable, inspiring environments for learning. My institutional work focuses on natural light, open circulation paths, and raw materials to build functional, long-lasting spaces.

About this collection

For institutional projects like the school in Kottur, I focus on the thermal performance and long-term durability of the structure. By integrating deep-set louvers and passive cooling techniques, I minimize operational costs while maximizing daylight, ensuring the facility stays functional and low-maintenance for decades.

Educational Architecture Focused on Purpose

Designing for institutions requires a departure from purely aesthetic concerns. The primary objective is to build environments that facilitate learning, circulation, and student safety. In my school projects across Karnataka, I focus on creating a balance between open, collaborative zones and structured, quiet classrooms.

Why Concrete and Passive Design?

I lean heavily on exposed concrete for these projects. It is cost-effective, durable, and ages well with minimal upkeep, which is an essential requirement for educational facilities. My layouts incorporate:

  • Circulation Logic: Wide, sunlit corridors that prevent crowding and encourage social interaction.
  • Passive Daylighting: Strategically placed vertical louvers and voids that filter harsh sunlight, ensuring classrooms remain well-lit without excessive heat gain.
  • Biophilic Integration: Indoor-outdoor courtyards that improve air quality and provide immediate access to green spaces, reducing stress for both students and faculty.

Technical Execution

Every institutional project undergoes rigorous structural planning. I coordinate with consultants to ensure wide-span areas like assembly halls and staircases are structurally sound while maintaining a minimalist, clean-line finish. The goal is to deliver a building that serves as an active participant in the educational process.
