Modern Hospitality and Residential Architectural Design

I design multi-story hotels and residences with a focus on clean geometry, honest materials, and passive climate control.

A design concept for a multi-story hotel on Bangalore International Airport Road. The facade blends extensive glass and horizontal wood paneling to create a warm, contemporary look, with integrated rooftop greenery for a biophilic touch. This project showcases my approach to modern hospitality design.

The facade of a multi-family residence in Gulbarga, designed as two stacked duplex units for a joint family. The structure features interlocking geometric forms, recessed balconies with plants, and wooden screens that provide both privacy and effective sun shading in a modern architectural style.

A conceptual design for a "Box House" apartment building. This project explores the use of corten steel panels and exposed concrete to create a bold, cubist facade, reflecting my interest in minimalist forms and contemporary facade materials.

An alternate perspective of the "Box House" concept, highlighting the interplay between the rusted finish of the corten steel, the raw texture of the concrete, and integrated greenery. This view shows how the building's form and materials interact with the environment.

About this collection

For multi-story hospitality or residential projects, the facade does more than define the building's look. My process integrates sun shading elements and privacy screens into the structure itself, using materials like corten steel and exposed concrete to manage heat gain while maintaining a modern, minimalist aesthetic.

When designing multi-story buildings in urban environments like Bangalore or Gulbarga, the approach must balance density with livability. My design process begins with a rigorous site analysis, evaluating solar paths and wind direction to determine building orientation and form.

Structural Form and Massing

I design to break up the mass of larger structures. For apartment blocks or hotels, this often means utilizing stacked duplex units or interlocking geometric forms. This approach improves natural light penetration and creates necessary buffer zones between units.

Materiality

I use honest, raw materials. Corten steel serves a dual purpose as both a modern design element and a durable facade skin that matures over time. Exposed concrete provides the structural base, while integrated greenery and timber paneling soften the exterior, making these buildings fit better into their surroundings.

Technical Coordination

Architectural beauty is only sustainable if the building works. My scope for these projects includes:

  • Service Core Planning: Efficient layout of ducts, fire exits, and elevator shafts to maximize floor plate utility.
  • Passive Climate Control: Using overhangs and fin detailing to reduce the need for artificial cooling.
  • Engineering Liaison: Coordinating with structural engineers to ensure bold design elements like cantilevers remain functional and buildable.

Whether you are planning a boutique hotel or a multi-family residence, my focus remains on creating a building that is structurally sound, climatically responsive, and visually distinct.
