About Animal Photography
Listening to Animals
I believe animals have stories, if you just sit quietly and pay attention. For me, taking a photo is like finishing a silent chat with them. Sometimes I’m out in the wild, feeling unsure or jittery, till the moment a leaf rustles or I catch a rare look from an animal. Forests keep surprising me and I love sharing those moments.
How I Capture Animals
I work in two main spaces: the wild and your home.
- Wildlife Photography: This is what I live for. I travel across India and beyond, carrying my “bazooka” lens, always chasing authentic, unstaged moments. I wait out for the tiger’s yawn, a leopard’s stealth, even playful birds and butterflies. I’m also a partner photographer for a wild cat conservation group - conservation photography is close to my heart.
- Pet Portrait Sessions (Mumbai): Your pet has a personality, and I want to show it off. Shoots can be in your home or outdoors, and I’ll adjust to shy or energetic animals. I always take time so they feel safe and at ease.
Photography With Purpose
Animal welfare matters to me. I often work with Mumbai shelters and NGOs, making animal rescue images that help pets and strays get new homes. I never stress animals for a shot. Ethical wildlife photography is a must - I won’t compromise their safety or dignity.
How It Works
Wildlife shoots are project-based and I travel for them. Pet shoots in Mumbai start with a chat about your pet and what you want, then we keep it relaxed and go at your animal’s pace. Patience is the secret sauce.

My Story
Hey, I’m Saloni. Forests feel like home to me, not just a backdrop for photos. I’m a photographer and, yeah, I talk to animals – telepathically! Sounds wild, but it’s real for me. Once, Bandhavgarh whispered hints before tigers showed up. Since 2007, I’ve followed Ranthambore’s queens and even wrote a book about Juhu’s birds. It’s all about connecting – tiger, sparrow, or even the city crow.
My Work
Wildlife & Pet Photography - I capture golden hour wildlife portraits and your pets’ quirks at home. Nat Geo India, Sanctuary Asia have featured my work.
Telepathic Animal Communication - I help you understand your pet or wild animal through feelings and images, not just words. Yes, even with birds and bugs.
Ethical Approach - I keep animal welfare first, always. I try to blend in, respect nature, and never put animals at risk for a shot.
