Concept & Sourcing
- Moodboarding: Creation of 2 distinct style routes (e.g., Edgy Glam vs. Classic Chic) tailored to the event profile.
- Designer Access: Sourcing outfits from mid-to-high tier Indian designers (e.g., Deme Love, Itrh, Gauri & Nainika) or international luxury brands via PR sourcing.
- Accessory Curation: Procurement of matching statement jewelry, clutches, and footwear (or advice on using client's own basics).
Fittings & Alterations
- Trial Session: One 2-hour fitting session at the client's residence or studio within Mumbai limits to shortlist the final outfit.
- Tailoring Coordination: Managing temporary alterations like tucking, pinning, or hemming to ensure a perfect fit without damaging the loaner garment.
On-Day Execution
- Dressing Assistance: 3 to 4 hours of on-site service including steaming the garment and securing the outfit.
- Malfunction Prevention: Application of professional-grade double-sided fashion tape and safety pins to secure deep necklines or high slits.
- Photo-Check: Last-minute adjustments during test shots to ensure the outfit photographs correctly from all angles.
Logistics
- Pick-up & Drop: Handling the pickup of clothes from designers and the mandatory return within 24 to 48 hours.
- Liability Management: Management of the responsibility documentation with designers.

Wardrobe Strategy
- Visual Narrative: Designing a cohesive style story for the promotion leg (e.g., Method Dressing matching the movie theme).
- Bulk Sourcing: Pulling 15+ options from high street mixes and designer labels like Papa Don't Preach or Limerick.
The Fit Session
- Marathon Trials: A dedicated half-day (4 to 5 hours) fitting session to finalize all 3 looks at once.
- Lookbook Creation: Creating photos of each finalized look showing exactly which shoes go with which dress for client reference.
Styling Components
- Outfit Variety: typically includes 1 Power Suit/Formal look, 1 Indo-Western/Fusion look, and 1 Chic Dress/Casual look.
- Accessory Stacking: Extensive use of trendy jewelry stacks and layered necklaces.
- Emergency Kit: Provision of a mini kit (tape, pins, lint roller) left with the client for quick touch-ups between interviews.
Logistics
- Consolidated Delivery: Includes all courier and runner charges for sourcing and returning multiple garment bags across Mumbai.
Commercial & Editorial Campaign Styling
Pre-Production
- Creative Alignment: Meetings with the Director and Photographer to align on lighting, set design, and color palette.

On-Set Management
- 12-Hour Shift: Full day presence on set for a standard 10 to 12 hour shift.

- On-Body Adjustments: Specialized clamping and pinning to make ready-to-wear clothes look tailor-made on camera.

About Celebrity Styling
I style looks for celebrities, mostly in Mumbai, but sometimes the work takes me everywhere. My job is to pull together outfits that really work for the event, whether it’s a massive award show, a film promotion blitz, or a brand campaign. Most days, I’m working as a co-stylist or assistant with some of the best lead stylists in the business, and sometimes I get to take the reins on my own projects. Either way, it’s hectic, creative, and never boring.
