Why I Bake Savory
Baking’s been my life for over two decades. Most folks know us for cakes, but honestly, I get a kick out of making savory stuff too. It’s not just about sugar - I want to make real food, the kind you crave when you’re hungry, not just when you want dessert.
How I Do It
No shortcuts here. I make everything from scratch, and I mean everything.
- Filo dough? I roll it out myself, paper-thin.
- Brioche buns and sourdough? Kneaded and baked in my kitchen.
- Fillings, sauces, even veggie stock cubes - all homemade, no fake stuff.
Baking’s not like regular cooking where you can just chalega (it’ll do). You gotta be precise, and I’m a stickler for that.

- Aloo Samosa Sandwich: Spicy samosa filling inside soft sourdough brioche.

Sometimes you want a meal, not just a bite. Fridays, I do baked dinners like Baked Rajma Chawal - kidney beans, rice, lentils, veggies, all baked together. Feels like home.
