Why I Bake Savory

Baking’s been my life for over two decades. Most folks know us for cakes, but honestly, I get a kick out of making savory stuff too. It’s not just about sugar - I want to make real food, the kind you crave when you’re hungry, not just when you want dessert.

How I Do It

No shortcuts here. I make everything from scratch, and I mean everything.

  • Filo dough? I roll it out myself, paper-thin.
  • Brioche buns and sourdough? Kneaded and baked in my kitchen.
  • Fillings, sauces, even veggie stock cubes - all homemade, no fake stuff.
    Baking’s not like regular cooking where you can just chalega (it’ll do). You gotta be precise, and I’m a stickler for that.

I love mixing things up, so you’ll find global savory bake flavors with my own twist.

  • Aloo Samosa Sandwich: Spicy samosa filling inside soft sourdough brioche.
  • Veggie Sausage Bun: My own veg sausage, creamy French onion mayo, all in a bun.
  • Veg Filo Parcels: Flaky potli (pouch) parcels, sweet-spicy veggies, cream cheese.
  • Greek Spanakopita: Spinach, cheese, layers of hot filo.
  • Italian Calzones, Polish Pierogies - all handmade savory pastries.

More Than Just Snacks

Sometimes you want a meal, not just a bite. Fridays, I do baked dinners like Baked Rajma Chawal - kidney beans, rice, lentils, veggies, all baked together. Feels like home.

I bake in small batches, only on pre-order. That way, you get small batch artisan bakes, always fresh, never sitting around. Menu changes every week, so there’s always something new to try.

Hey, I’m Smee. Been baking for 30+ years, and let me tell you - baking isn’t a game of andaze (guesswork). You mess up, you know it! My team and I, we’re all about precision, pouring love into every batch. When I baked for my nephew’s wedding, the stress was real, but so was the joy. This isn’t just business, it’s family, it’s memories, it’s aching backs during Christmas, and counting blessings. We take breaks, come back, and bake stories.
