About Space & Satellite Communication Workshops
Curiosity is what drives us. Our workshops are all about getting you out of the classroom and into the world of real space communication. You actually connect with satellites, not just read about them.
Who Guides You
Shri B. A. Subramani (VU2WMY), a retired ISRO scientist, leads every session. He’s been part of Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan missions, and he’s a HAM radio pro. He’s got stories, patience, and answers for every question - even the ones you think are silly.
What Happens in Two Days
- Day one is all about the basics: how satellites work, orbits, and communication principles. You get your hands on satellite dish parts and do live ISS tracking.
- Day two, you dive deeper. Set up software and hardware, receive live data from space, and capture weather satellite images. You’ll see digital communication modes like SSTV and PSK in action.
What You Actually Do
- Track the ISS live as it passes overhead.
- Build an amateur radio ground station using SDR.
- Decode satellite signals and generate weather images.
- Try out space communication hands-on training.
Who Can Join
Anyone with curiosity. We’ve had college students, teachers, working folks, and even a 78-year-old join in. No age or background limits.
What You Take Home
- Real hands-on experience with returnable kits and laptops.
- Certificate signed by our ISRO scientist.
- Inspiration and maybe the itch to set up your own ground station.

My Story
Hi, I’m Krishna Rao, partner at i-Robochakra Navi Mumbai. We kicked this off seeing kids glued to screens, so we thought - why not make that time count? We’re ISRO Space Tutors, so the workshops get pretty wild, especially when retired ISRO folks drop in. Once, even a 78-year-old joined in! That spark, whether it’s a kid building a Dahi Handi Bot or a student decoding satellite images, is what keeps us going. We’re here for the ‘aha!’ moments.
My Work
Workshops and Classes in Robotics, AI, Coding, Space Tech - We run hands-on sessions for all ages, from kids to college students, covering robotics, coding, electronics, and more.
Hands-On Learning - Students build, code, experiment. Kits provided. Screen-free STEM learning, not just theory.
ISRO Space Tutor Programs - We host exclusive workshops with real ISRO experts. Learn satellite tracking, space tech from those who lived it.
Family Robotics Sessions - Special sessions for kids under 8 and their parents. Learn, build, and play together.
Collaborations & Events - We team up with schools and colleges around Mumbai for workshops and science events that spark curiosity.
