Makeup is 20% products and 80% finding the right solution in the moment. See how I use simple hacks and creativity to save time and add that extra sparkle to any look.

Here are three Navratri hairstyles from one accessory. I show you how to create a versatile hairpiece with colorful threads that you can use for a braid, a ponytail, or a half-pony.

Let's create a beautiful hairstyle using jhumkas. This messy braid is perfect for a traditional mehndi or haldi look, and I show you how to securely attach heavy earrings for a unique hair accessory.

A hairstyle that works for both traditional and western looks. I demonstrate how to create an elegant Maharashtrian Khopa style bun that gives your face a beautiful oval shape.

A modern choti look for Navratri. Using a simple lace, I show you how to create a chic, criss-cross braid that is stylish and perfect for your festive vibe.

No matching earrings? No problem. Watch how I used the 'jhumar' from a paranda to create a stunning, statement earring that perfectly matched the outfit.

An easy and beautiful braided hairstyle for Navratri. I show you how to create multiple braids and decorate them with colorful 'kodi' shells for a trendy and festive look.

A unique Navratri hairstyle using pom-poms. Learn how to create a fun and festive hair accessory by attaching colorful pom-poms to a hairnet for a secure and elegant bun.

Day 1 of my Navratri hairstyle series. This look involves creating multiple small braids with colorful threads and decorating them with shells for a super chic and easy-to-do festive style.

The easiest way to create a messy bun. I demonstrate a simple pull-through braid technique that creates a full, textured bun that looks great for both traditional and western outfits.

About Quick Tips & 'Jugad' Hacks

Ever had a gown that refused to fit or an earring that just didn't match the outfit? A lot of my signature 'jugad' starts with simple tools. I often use a safety pin and decorative lace to instantly fix a loose dress, or repurpose a 'jhumar' from a paranda to create a statement earring when nothing else works. It is all about knowing how to make things work in the moment, rather than relying only on what you have in your kit.

Most people think being a makeup artist is just about the expensive products and the perfect palette. Trust me, the real work is in the 'jugad'—the smart, last-minute fixes that save the day when everything else fails. Whether I am prepping a bride for her big day or teaching my students at the Mulund academy, these hacks are my go-to strategy.

From handling thin hair with backcombing and clever extension placement to creating festive looks using just threads and shells, the goal is always to keep the look clean and professional. I love teaching my students how to turn a simple braid into a Navratri-ready style with pom-poms or how to create a volume-heavy bun even when the client has fine hair. These aren't just tricks; they are essential survival skills for any stylist.

If you have ever struggled with dupattas that won't stay put or finding the right hair accessory, you will find plenty of solutions here. My approach is simple: if you have the right technique, you can work with any hair type or outfit constraint. I share all these secrets, along with the 3 Ms (Makeup, Management, and Money) in my professional diploma batches at Mulund Academy. Whether you are an aspiring artist or just want to master your own festive styling, these hacks will change the way you look at your vanity kit.

I am Bijal. For me, makeup is not about covering up, it is about confidence. I believe that if you can handle a crisis with a bit of creativity, you can handle anything in life. That is exactly what I teach my students—how to think on their feet and create magic with whatever is at hand.
