My Journey as a Supreme Court Advocate on Record
I started as an introverted law student and built my practice from scratch. Here is how grit, not legacy, defines my approach to the law.
In this podcast, I share the full story of my legal journey, from being inspired by the Jessica Lal murder case to my first days in court. It's an honest account of the dedication required to succeed as a first-generation lawyer.
Pictured here after a podcast where I discussed my transformation from an introverted law student to a confident advocate. My story is one of struggle and perseverance, and I believe in thinking superior to be superior.
An illustration from my podcast feature, "Legal Journey of Adv Kunal Yadav." I shared my story to inspire others, proving that with hard work, you can overcome any obstacle in this profession.
Standing before the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Supreme Court. His teachings on truth and justice are a constant source of faith and reverence, reminding me of the core principles of our legal system.
A moment of reflection at the Supreme Court. Not every day brings a win, but I refuse to accept defeat. My philosophy is to work harder and strike back with more preparation because success is the only option.
A throwback to being invited as a guest lecturer at Amity University, my alma mater. It was a surreal moment, especially after being told during my admission interview that I couldn't become a lawyer.
An interview where I shared my story with Desi Kaanoon. I believe if you desire something with all your heart, the entire universe conspires to help you achieve it. My journey is proof of that.
About A First-Generation Advocate's Journey
My path was not handed to me. It started in the trial courts of Delhi, where I learned to navigate the registry, manage high-stakes litigation, and handle the pressure of criminal defense without a mentor's legacy to lean on. When you hire me, you aren't hiring a firm with a name; you are hiring a practitioner who has fought for every inch of standing in this profession and treats your case with the same intensity as my own career.
Being a first-generation lawyer in the Supreme Court of India is about more than just knowing the sections of the IPC or the Constitution. It is about understanding the human cost of a legal battle. My practice is built on a simple philosophy: conviction over convenience.
I began my journey inspired by high-profile cases like the Jessica Lal murder trial, which taught me the power of cross-examination and the importance of holding the prosecution accountable. From those early days at Patiala House Court to my current role as an Advocate on Record (AOR), I have focused on hardcore criminal litigation and corporate disputes.
What does this mean for you? It means I don't sugarcoat the reality of your situation. Whether you are dealing with a complex criminal matter, a corporate conflict requiring strategic conciliation, or a family dispute that needs sensitive mediation, I provide a clear legal reality check. I use the 'shuttle mediation' technique for family matters to reduce confrontation and rely on rigorous preparation for court appearances.
My approach is practical, not theoretical. If a case needs a firm stand in the Supreme Court, I fight without fear. If it needs a smart settlement to save you time and cost, I facilitate it with the latest legal frameworks, such as the Mediation Act 2023. I am here to help you steer your own outcome.
