Solo Bharatanatyam Recitals for Events and Festivals
Bringing the grace of traditional Bharatanatyam to your stage. Whether it is a quiet invocation or a detailed mythological narrative, I dance to tell stories that connect the audience to the divine.
A few moments from a solo recital at Ananya Nruthyollasa. Each solo performance is an opportunity for me to connect deeply with the audience and share the intricate beauty of Bharatanatyam.
This is a small piece from my performance of the Gayatri Mantra. It is a profound mantra that I interpret through dance as a form of gratitude and a prayer for spiritual enlightenment.
A quiet moment of expression during a solo recital. Here, I am portraying a line from a verse, using hand gestures and facial expressions to convey the poetry of the music.
An artistic edit from one of my performances, capturing the dynamic motion and vibrant energy of a spin. This image beautifully visualizes the rhythm and flow of the dance.
These motion-blur images from the Nritya Shankara series capture the fluid essence of dance. They represent the spirit of movement that transcends a single frozen moment.

About this collection
When I perform a solo recital, I focus on total immersion. I arrive 30 to 45 minutes before the slot to warm up and check the acoustics, ensuring my temple jewellery and silk drapery are perfect for the stage lighting. My sets use high-quality recorded tracks for Nattuvangam and vocals, so the sound is crisp whether we are in an intimate hall or a larger auditorium.
Bharatanatyam is more than just steps to me. It is a living prayer. When you book a solo recital, you are getting more than a performer. You are inviting a storyteller who uses Abhinaya, or facial expression, and technical footwork to breathe life into timeless tales.
My recitals follow the traditional Margam format, which typically includes:
- An Invocation: A peaceful start like Pushpanjali or a devotional Stuti, setting the tone for your event.
- The Narrative: I dive into mythological storytelling, drawing from the Ramayana or Krishna Leela, depending on what fits your occasion.
- The Technical Closing: We finish with a Thillana, a fast-paced, high-energy sequence that leaves a lasting impression on the audience.
I am based in Bengaluru and travel across Karnataka for shows. Every performance is adapted to the venue, whether it is a cultural centre, a wedding reception, or a corporate function. Because I prioritize authenticity, I wear traditional silk costumes and temple jewellery that look stunning under stage lights. If you are looking for a dancer who respects the roots of this art form while connecting with a modern audience, I am ready to share that magic with you.
