Real Talk: Loving Your Body
I am not here to be perfect; I am here to be real. Let's unlearn the body image myths that keep us from feeling comfortable and confident every single day.
Sometimes we feel so insecure, but the problem isn't our body, it's the clothes that aren't made for us. It took me a while to understand my pear shape and find brands that design for real Indian bodies. Focus on the fit, not the "flaws."
Why do we blame our bodies when clothes don't fit? An outfit can make you feel so much, so instead of trying to fit into a size chart, let's find clothes that fit us. Your self-worth should never be decided by a piece of cloth.
A simple get-ready-with-me that carries a powerful reminder. We are often our own harshest critics. When you look in the mirror, try to see the beauty that others see in you, not just the flaws you focus on.
Your body is not the problem, but sometimes we treat it like one when we get dressed. This is your reminder to make the process of getting ready fun and an act of self-expression, not a daily dose of body shaming.
I want to be real with you all. This past year has been a struggle, and some days I don't love my body. But body positivity isn't about loving yourself all the time; it's about holding space for the days you don't and accepting every stage of your journey.
A still from my video about healing and finding myself again. Body positivity means having the courage to accept changes in your body, even when you don't celebrate them. I'm here to be real, not perfect.
Scrolling through Instagram can feed our insecurities. But just like every goddess has her own unique powers, we too are special in our own way. This is a reminder to channel your inner goddess and be beautifully you.
Here are some things I wish my younger self had said "no" to, from feeling conscious about my hips to using editing apps. Removing body hair is a personal choice, and if you choose to, it shouldn't be painful. It's time to shave off others' opinions.
The daily struggle of having a closet full of clothes but feeling like you have nothing to wear. This is a relatable look at the emotional breakdown that can happen while getting ready. You're not alone in this!
I know you might focus on my tummy in this picture, but I look good. We have a tendency to focus on our flaws, but this is a reminder to see the whole, beautiful picture.
About Real Talk: Loving Your Body
Getting ready shouldn't be a daily battle with your own reflection. When I share my struggles with bloating or feeling conscious about my arms, it is because I know you have been there, too. We do not need to fix our bodies; we need to fix the way we look at them.
Body positivity isn't about loving yourself every second of the day. It is about holding space for the days when you don't.
The Unlearning Process
Many of us grew up thinking our curves were flaws to be hidden rather than parts of who we are. My coaching sessions aren't about changing your shape. They are about dismantling the toxic thoughts that turn a simple morning ritual like getting dressed into a source of anxiety. We address the root causes of that internal critic, whether it comes from societal pressure in India, comments from family, or the unrealistic standards we scroll past on social media.
What We Focus On
- Addressing Insecurities: We talk about the specific things—like arm fat, tummy pooch, or thick thighs—that hold you back, and learn how to separate your self-worth from those physical traits.
- Mindset Shifts: We work on moving away from the 'fix it' mentality. Instead of asking how to hide your belly, we learn to accept it and dress for the body you have today, not the one you hope to have later.
- Confidence in Real Life: Whether you are prepping for a wedding, a corporate event, or just a Tuesday, we develop a plan to keep your confidence intact, even on your 'meh' days.
This is not a makeover. It is a reality check. You deserve to walk into a room without scanning it for people who might judge you. Let’s start that conversation.
