My seva extends to leading public rituals and collective prayers in temples across Bangalore, uniting devotees in shared Vedic worship.

Participating in a Bruhathi Sahasra Yaaga, a very large and significant fire ceremony, with fellow priests and devotees.

Performing abhishekam at the Somanath Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve most sacred Shiva shrines. It is a blessing to perform seva at such holy places.

Performing aarti to Naga idols at a temple. Public rituals allow the entire community to benefit from the divine blessings.

Performing aarti to deities in a temple setting.

A glimpse of a homa being performed inside a traditional temple structure.

A ritual being performed in a village courtyard, with the community gathered around.

Participating in a temple procession with a deity idol.

About this collection

When I lead community rituals like a Bruhathi Sahasra Yaaga, the atmosphere shifts. Unlike a private home pooja, these large scale events require precise coordination between multiple priests to ensure every mantra, mudra, and offering reaches the fire exactly as prescribed. It is a powerful experience to see dozens of devotees unified in prayer during these public ceremonies.

Performing rituals in a temple or public hall requires a different level of preparation than private services. The energy is amplified by the presence of the community, and my role involves maintaining the sanctity of the space while ensuring all participants are engaged in the collective Sankalpa (intention setting).

Why Collective Worship Matters

In Vedic tradition, group participation in a homa or yaga magnifies the spiritual impact. When we chant mantras together in a sacred space, the resonance creates a stronger connection to the divine. My work in these settings includes:

  • Public Yaagas: Organizing and leading extensive fire ceremonies that accommodate larger groups of devotees, ensuring the ritual integrity remains intact throughout the multi-hour duration.
  • Temple Seva: Conducting specific, traditional rituals in established shrines, which often includes complex abhishekam and decoration work that is difficult to replicate in smaller residential settings.
  • Inclusive Participation: Providing opportunities for individuals and families to participate in mass events, such as during festivals or planetary transitions, where I read specific names and Gotras during the proceedings.

Planning a Community Event

If you are part of a temple committee or a resident association looking to organize a significant Vedic event, please contact me early. These ceremonies, particularly those involving elaborate Rangoli mandalas and multi-priest coordination, require detailed scheduling to ensure everything from the materials to the auspicious timing is perfectly aligned with the Vedic calendar. Whether it is a small temple function or a large scale community celebration in Bangalore, my focus remains on the purity of the ritual and the spiritual well-being of all who attend.
