Acne & Scar Revision Treatments
Active acne can feel overwhelming, but the aftermath of scars doesn't have to be permanent. At AISHH, we focus on treatments that bridge the gap between clinical dermatology and your personal skin goals.
This before-and-after shows the significant improvement possible for deep acne scars. We used a combination of subcision to break up the scar tissue, lasers to resurface the skin, and a fat transplant to restore lost volume, achieving a much smoother texture after just three sessions.
For deeper acne scars, a multi-pronged approach is most effective. Here, I am performing a combination treatment involving subcision, laser therapy, and growth factors in a single sitting to achieve more comprehensive results.
This case highlights the importance of a correct diagnosis. What appeared to be simple acne comedones was actually calcinosis cutis, a rare condition involving calcium deposits. After a skin biopsy, we successfully treated it with laser and excision.
Hearing directly from a happy patient is the best part of my job. She came to me for seborrheic dermatitis and pimples, and after just one sitting and the right oral medication, her concerns were resolved.
Post-acne dark spots can be as distressing as the acne itself. In this video, I explain what causes these marks, how to prevent them by not popping pimples, and the treatments I recommend, from topicals like azelaic acid to chemical peels and lasers.
About Acne & Scar Solutions
Scarring isn't a one-size-fits-all issue, and it doesn't have a single fix. To get real texture improvement, I often combine subcision—to physically release those tethered scar bands—with MNRF or CO2 laser to resurface the skin. It is a process that takes a few sessions, but it is the most honest way to move from temporary makeup coverage to smoother, real skin texture.
Understanding Your Skin's Journey
Many people confuse active acne spots with true acne scars. An acne spot—that dark mark left behind—is pigmentation that usually fades with the right topical treatment or chemical peels. A scar, however, is an actual depression in the skin's surface caused by deep inflammation. Understanding this difference is step one in our clinic.
My Approach to Scar Revision
I never recommend a single, generic laser for everyone. If you have deep, pitted scars, we need to address the structural tethering beneath the skin.
- Subcision: I manually release the fibrotic bands pulling your skin down. This allows the skin to lift and smooth out.
- MNRF (Microneedling Radiofrequency): This uses energy to stimulate deep collagen production, which is essential for filling in those depressions.
- Growth Factors: We infuse these during the treatment to speed up your natural healing.
What to Expect
Honesty is part of the treatment. These procedures are not 'lunch-break' fixes. You should expect visible redness, mild swelling, and some scabbing for about 3 to 7 days post-procedure. If you have an important event coming up, we need to plan your sessions well in advance so your skin has the time it needs to recover and reveal the results.
We start with a thorough assessment to see if your acne is truly under control before we work on the scars. There is no point in resurfacing skin that is still dealing with active inflammation. My goal is to get you to a place where you don't feel the need to hide behind concealer every morning.
Indu Kumari
I’m Dr. Indu Kumari. I started AISHH Clinic because I wanted a space that feels like a family, where we actually listen to what your skin is going through before suggesting a single procedure. Whether you are dealing with active breakouts or stubborn old scars, I am here to guide you through the process, not just sell you a service.
