About Bharatanatyam Performances
Why I Dance
For me, Bharatanatyam is more than just steps and rhythm. It’s a way to connect with something bigger, to feel and share a sense of magic with everyone watching. When I’m on stage, I want you to feel that same spark - like there’s something special in the air.
What You’ll Experience
- My performances are all about rhythm, storytelling, and expression. Sometimes it’s fast and energetic, sometimes it’s all about the quiet moments that really hit home.
- I love bringing out the stories of Lord Rama, Ganesha, and Shiva through Bharatanatyam storytelling through dance. The emotions, the drama, the little details - that’s what I focus on.
- I usually dance with a live Carnatic music accompaniment. The sound of the mridangam, violin, and flute just lifts the whole vibe.
Solo & Group Performances
- In solo recitals, I go deep into the traditional Bharatanatyam recital format, performing pieces like Varnam and Padam.
- With my dance family, we create group Bharatanatyam stage productions. Sometimes I’m dancing, sometimes I’m on nattuvangam, keeping the rhythm for my Guru and friends.
The Details Matter
- I always perform in silk costumes with temple jewelry and ghungroos. The look and sound are as important as the dance itself.
- Every show is about creating a real, authentic experience - not just for me, but for you too.

My Story
Started dancing Bharatanatyam when I was 7, thanks to my Guru, Smt. Revathi Srinivasraghavan. Nrityaranjani, my dance home, is like my second family - rituals, celebrations, prasadam, all of it. Dance just follows me everywhere. Hampi, Varanasi, even my own wedding - somehow, I end up dancing! Made my husband dance too, poor guy. From student to teacher now, it’s all about devotion, discipline, and a bit of madness. Grateful for every step.
My Work
Bharatanatyam performances and workshops - I offer solo recitals, group productions, and workshops in Bharatanatyam.
Teaching with Guru-Shishya parampara - I pass on what my Guru taught me, keeping the traditional Guru-Shishya parampara alive.
Focus on stillness and emotion - Not just speed - I teach how stillness and slow movement can be powerful in storytelling.
Nattuvangam and Jathis - I’m trained in Nattuvangam and rendering Jathis, adding depth to my teaching and performances.
