Why I Dance
For me, Bharatanatyam is more than just steps or stage shows. It’s a spiritual journey, almost like a prayer in motion. I want you to feel that too - the quiet power that comes when dance feels like home.
What You’ll Learn
- We start with the basics: Taalam (rhythm), Jathis (footwork), and building a strong foundation.
- Abhinaya storytelling techniques are a big part of our classes. You’ll learn to express stories and emotions, not just memorize moves.
- We go through classic pieces like Padam, Varnam, and Tillana, so you get the full Bharatanatyam repertoire learning experience.
- If you’re already dancing for a while, we can dive into Nattuvangam and Konnakol workshops too.
How We Learn
I follow the Guru-Shishya Parampara dance classes style. It’s not just about copying steps - it’s about mentorship, respect, and growing together. We’re like a dance family. We rehearse, perform, and celebrate traditions like Vidyaarambham together.
The Vibe
Some days are all about discipline, other days we just dance for the joy of it - even if it’s in the park. Kabhi kabhi, dance mein vo baat aa jaati hai (sometimes, the dance just has that magic). That’s what I want to share with you - the discipline, the delight, and everything in between.

My Story
Started dancing Bharatanatyam when I was 7, thanks to my Guru, Smt. Revathi Srinivasraghavan. Nrityaranjani, my dance home, is like my second family - rituals, celebrations, prasadam, all of it. Dance just follows me everywhere. Hampi, Varanasi, even my own wedding - somehow, I end up dancing! Made my husband dance too, poor guy. From student to teacher now, it’s all about devotion, discipline, and a bit of madness. Grateful for every step.
My Work
Bharatanatyam performances and workshops - I offer solo recitals, group productions, and workshops in Bharatanatyam.
Teaching with Guru-Shishya parampara - I pass on what my Guru taught me, keeping the traditional Guru-Shishya parampara alive.
Focus on stillness and emotion - Not just speed - I teach how stillness and slow movement can be powerful in storytelling.
Nattuvangam and Jathis - I’m trained in Nattuvangam and rendering Jathis, adding depth to my teaching and performances.
