About

I’ve always looked at dance as the way I make sense of the world around me. It isn’t just a job, it’s more like a banyan tree—taking strength from tradition but open to new ideas. There are days when it’s tough, but the meaning it gives me is something I hold close.

How I Teach

I don’t just want you to learn steps. I want you to get curious about why we move, what stories we’re telling, and how all this connects to your own life. We’ll talk about classical dance history and philosophy, break down poetry, and figure out why a piece is meaningful now, not just in the past. For me, it’s a partnership—you bring your questions, I bring mine, and together we figure things out.

Who Can Join

Anyone with an open mind can be part of these classes:

  • Kids start with rhythm and basics
  • Teens and young adults dig into more complex pieces and find their own voice
  • Adults, even if you’re busy or returning after a break, find a supportive, no-judgement space here

How We Learn

Classes run both in my Gurgaon/Delhi studio and online, so you can join from anywhere. We balance technique (adavus, sollukattu) with real Indian dance storytelling techniques. Advanced learners try out tough rhythmic sequences. We use authentic choreographies from my Guru’s lineage, and respect traditions like Vidyarambham.

Beyond Classes

I run workshops with schools (even in remote places) and do lecture-demonstrations to make Bharatanatyam open and understandable for everyone. My teaching is shaped by my Guru, Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan, and I’m proud to share that legacy with you.

My Story

You know, people get confused when I say I’m crazy about math and history. But dance is where it all mixes up for me - it’s my way to connect ideas, make sense of life. I’m always tweaking steps, even last minute, and honestly, some days I just want to crash. But dance gives me purpose, it’s my pehchaan. I’m a sucker for handloom sarees and adrak chai, and backstage moments with friends are pure gold. My soul? It’s like an orchestra, and dance is me trying to hear every instrument inside.

My Work

Bharatanatyam performances & choreography - I perform solo and with my group, create new thematic Bharatanatyam choreography for events.

Storytelling through dance - I explore stories from mythology, Sangam poetry, and even themes like climate crisis in my productions.

Workshops & teaching - I run Bharatanatyam workshops for beginners and regular classes, sharing what I’ve learnt as an eternal student.

Collaboration & teamwork - Every show is a team effort - I love working with fellow dancers, musicians, and artists to create something real.
