About Bharatanatyam Performances
Why I Dance
Bharatanatyam is my way of feeling close to Bharat’s roots. It’s not just performance - it’s prayer, philosophy, and a chance for me to share what I love about our traditions. Whenever I’m on stage, I try to bring that feeling to you.
What You’ll See
- Solo Recitals: Each show is personal, built on the classic Bharatanatyam margam repertoire, with space for improvisation. I get to play with abhinaya expression techniques, whether it’s Krishna’s mischief or Kalidasa’s poetry.
- Group Productions: Dancing with my Natya Vriksha team has a totally different energy. We put in long hours to sync up and explore both old-school and abstract themes. The group choreography in Bharatanatyam is something that needs real teamwork.
- Thematic Storytelling: Some performances are all about a story - like ‘Kaavya Katha’ (poetry through dance), ‘SONGS OF THE MILLSTONE’ (working women’s stories), or ‘Sadaaneera’ (water as the theme). We mix folk and classical, depending on the concept.
What Makes It Special
- Live Orchestra: I don’t perform without my musicians. The vocals, mridangam, violin, flute - they’re the heartbeat of every recital.
- Visuals: Costumes, temple jewelry, lighting - we try to make it a treat for your eyes too.
Where We Dance
You’ll find us on big festival stages, college auditoriums, sometimes at heritage spots. The commitment is always the same, no matter the venue.
About Arangetrams
Watching my disciples do their Arangetram is special. It’s their first real stage moment, and for me, it’s proof that the guru-shishya parampara (teacher-student tradition) is still alive. Nothing beats seeing a student become an artist.

My Story
We’re Natya Vriksha, living and breathing Dilli’s history, from Chor Minar’s dark tales to temple darshans in Jaipur and Gonda. Our days swing between grand dance productions and small joys, like gossip with friends or celebrating handmade crafts. We’re craft-crazy, always rooting for weavers and handlooms. Art lets us wander, wonder, and connect. SUPPORT HANDMADE IN INDIA, always.
