About this collection
The registration process for BIG.inning starts with a studio-based audition. Whether you are entering solo or as part of a crew, keep in mind that the prelims and finals are two distinct steps—you need to bring your A-game for the audition to qualify for the main auditorium stage. Why We Built BIG.inning
We don't believe in barriers. Whether you specialize in Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, or Bhangra, BIG.inning is an open ground. We created this platform to let dancers move beyond the practice room. This is where you test your stamina, refine your storytelling, and perform for a live audience.
The Format
- Prelims: These happen in our studio space. This is your first hurdle. Judges look for musicality, clean execution, and that raw energy. Keep your routine tight—prelim auditions are typically 45 to 60 seconds for soloists.
- Finals: If you qualify, you hit the stage at venues like Kamani Auditorium. We bring in international experts to judge, meaning you get professional feedback that actually matters. This isn't just about winning a trophy; it's about the exposure.
Competition Categories
- Solo: High pressure, high reward. Perfect if you want to test your individual style against the best in the city.
- Crew: Minimum 5 members. This is about synchronization, chemistry, and how well your team can fill a large stage.
We provide professional videography of the final performances, so you walk away with a high-quality reel for your portfolio. Whether you win the cash prize or not, the experience of battling in front of judges like Anthony Lee or Devin Pornel is what stays with you. We handle the lights, the sound, and the tech rehearsals—you just focus on the movement. If you're ready to get loud, this is your sign.
