The Punjab Gharana Lineage

My training is purely from the Punjab gharana, a style known for its powerful and intricate rhythms. I pass on the teachings I received directly from my Guru, Ustad Joginder Singh Ji, who is a disciple of the legendary Ustad Allarakha Khan Saheb, continuing a rich and authentic musical heritage.

Learning Compositions: Qaida, Rela, Gatt & More

My lessons cover the essential compositions of a classical tabla solo. We start with the foundational Qaida to build your vocabulary, then move to the fast-flowing Rela, the structured Gatt, and the complex, cyclical Chakradar, giving you a complete toolkit for performance.

The Soul of Ryaaz: Daily Practice

Ryaaz, or dedicated practice, is the most important part of a musician's life. It is a spiritual journey, a daily koshish (effort) to connect with the instrument and the music. I guide my students to build a strong discipline of ryaaz to develop their skills and find their own musical voice.
