About Architectural Education & Workshops
Why We Teach Architecture
For us, architecture is more than just drawing up fancy plans. It’s about being a facilitator, a listener, sometimes even a bit of a community activist. I genuinely believe sharing what we know makes the field stronger - so I put a lot of energy into making heritage conservation and urban regeneration something everyone can access, not just architects.
Internship With Us: Jump In, Get Your Hands Dirty
Our hands-on architecture internship is where you actually do the work - not just watch. You’ll get into research, documentation, and these “site adventures” (trust me, not always as glamorous as they sound, but you’ll learn a lot). We don’t care if you haven’t done this before. Just bring curiosity and honesty. You’ll be part of the team, not just an observer.
Workshops That Don’t Feel Like Lectures
Through our Jugaadopolis initiative, we run heritage conservation training and adaptive reuse workshops. We love jugaad (that bit of creative, local problem-solving) and pack our sessions with games, brainstorming, and co-creation. Topics are never boring: retrofitting old places, digital heritage, museums, and more. Anyone with a love for heritage can join, whether you’re a student, pro, or community group.
Tools & Guides: We Share The How-To
We’ve built digital tools for heritage education and practical DIY guides for everyone from homeowners to site managers. Our Restoration Toolbox and Clinic are all about making restoration doable, not overwhelming, and yes, sometimes we just hold your hand through it.
In the University World
I’m often at universities - talking shop, teaching, running panels. It’s about passing on the good, the bad, and the honest realities of architecture to the next lot.

My Story
Old buildings have always spoken to me – not literally, but you know, they’ve got stories. That’s why I started ATA, with my small gang in Delhi. We’re all about mixing old soul with new ideas. We work with clients, engineers, and locals, bouncing ideas off each other. Our Jugaadopolis thing keeps us sharp, sharing and learning with students. Every job, whether it’s reviving a Darbargarh or jazzing up an attic, is a full-on adventure for us.
My Work
What We Do - We design for heritage conservation, adaptive reuse architecture, retrofit design, placemaking, interiors, and run workshops.
Reuse, Retrofit, Reimagine - We transform tired spaces into lively ones, seeing potential where others see rubble. No demolition, just new life.
Circular Design & Jugaad - We use what’s on-site, upcycle, and work with local hands. Smart, sustainable, a bit of jugaad (clever fix).
Bold but Sensitive Touch - Our heritage building retrofit is modern but respects the old bones. Design blends in, not shouts.
Placemaking with People - We build for and with communities. Outdoor classrooms, music spaces, hubs – all about impact that lasts.
