My Musical Story
Music is where I find myself. I get completely lost in it - it’s not just a job, it's how I share my emotions. Every playback song is a fresh chance for me to bring life to a character, to give a scene its feeling, and to support the director’s vision. Honestly, sometimes it's tough to nail the mood perfectly, but that's what keeps it exciting.
Songs That Made Me Who I Am
A few tracks really changed things for me. “Kadalanu Kaano Horatiro” from Sapta Saagaradaache Ello - Side B brought me crazy amounts of love, and “Olave Olave” (which also became “Nuvve Nuvve” in Telugu and “Uyire Uyire” in Malayalam) got hearts from everywhere. Singing “Naa Ninage Nee Nanage” as a duet with Vasuki Vaibhav was special. I also enjoy making independent music like “Anirikshita” - gives me space to experiment.
Awards & Recognition
Winning the Filmfare Award South and IIFA Utsavam for “Kadalanu Kaano Horatiro” was unreal. I’ve also bagged Prajavani Cine Samman and got nominated for SIIMA and Chittara Star Awards. These keep me going, but honestly, what matters most is how people feel the song.
My Vocal Palette
I mostly sing in Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam. My Hindustani classical music training helps me handle different genres - film melodies, ghazals, abhangs, bhavageethe - you name it. Working with composers like Charan Raj and Arjun Ramu, and studios like Paramvah, is always thumba khushi (so much joy).
How I Work
I dive deep into the lyrics and melody before stepping into the studio. The actual recording happens at studios picked by the production team. My main aim is to deliver a multilingual playback voice performance that lifts the whole song.

Hi, I'm Srilakshmi. Music's pretty much my life - can't separate the two. Amma's always catching my goofy smiles on camera, and Dodda (grandma) is my anchor.
