Music at Sangeet Gurugriha is a path, not just a syllabus. From Saraswati Puja to our Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, our festivals bring our students and gurus together to celebrate the vibrant culture we share.

About this collection

These events are more than just social gatherings. At Sangeet Gurugriha, we believe music is a parampara (tradition), and these festivals—like our annual Ghungroo Puja—are the moments when our students step out of the practice room and experience the soul of performance. It is where you see the genuine bond between our students and gurus come alive beyond the classroom.

Our Cultural Roots

We view our academy as a second home, a Gurugriha. Our events are designed to nurture that sense of family, or gharana, among our 200+ students. We celebrate the core festivals that define our culture, including Guru Purnima, Ganesh Chaturthi, Saraswati Puja, and Rabindra Jayanti.

The Significance of Tradition

Every festival serves a specific purpose in the learning journey:

  • Ghungroo Puja: For our dance students, this is a sacred rite of passage. It marks the moment they accept their ghungroos as a divine instrument, signifying dedication before they begin their formal stage training.
  • Guru Purnima: A day of gratitude. It helps students understand the deep, respectful relationship between a teacher and a disciple in Indian classical arts.
  • Ganesh Chaturthi: We host traditional pujas and havan ceremonies. It is a time for students to experience the community aspect of our academy, often involving shared meals and collective singing.

Why This Matters for Your Learning

If you are looking for Hindustani classical vocal training, Carnatic lessons, or dance classes in Bangalore, you are joining more than just a course. You are joining a community that values the roots of the art form. We believe that stage presence comes from comfort, and comfort comes from feeling at home. By participating in these festivals, our students build the confidence to perform at our annual 'Pratibha Darpan' event and external university exams. Whether you are learning keyboard, guitar, or classical vocal, we encourage all our students to participate in these celebrations to truly understand the spirit behind the music.
