This is the first collection of visuals a user sees. It is designed to quickly communicate my core skills: live art creation, the quality of my finished work, my role as a teacher, and the recognition I have received.
Live Art Demonstrations
Creating art in front of an audience has a unique energy. I perform live painting demonstrations for festivals, corporate events, and cultural summits, using mediums like acrylics, watercolours, and even large-scale chalk art to create a finished piece on the spot.
Plein Air: On-Location Landscapes
I travel to historical forts, ancient temples, and scenic ghats to paint on-site. This practice, known as plein air painting, allows me to capture the true essence, light, and atmosphere of a place as it happens, creating a direct and honest connection with the subject.
Historical & Cultural Tributes
My art is a humble artistic tribute (vinamra chitra abhivadan) to our Indian historical culture. I create portraits and biographical paintings of great personalities like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Phule, and Savitribai Phule, as well as devotional art inspired by figures like Prabhu Ram.
Art Workshops & Student Activities
I find immense joy in teaching, which I consider more rewarding than any award. I conduct art technique workshops for students and art teachers, covering subjects like portraiture and landscapes in various mediums, and organize creative activities in schools to foster a love for art.
Awards & Recognition
I am deeply grateful for the recognition my work has received. This includes the prestigious 'Krantijyoti Savitrimai Phule State Teacher Award' for Best Art Teacher, having my paintings permanently installed in the Mantralay, and being invited to serve as a jury member for international art competitions.
Exhibitions, Summits & Speaking Engagements
I actively participate in the art community by exhibiting my work, inaugurating shows for fellow artists, and speaking at art summits and colleges. I share my journey, discuss painting techniques, and lecture on Indian art history to connect with art lovers and aspiring artists.
With Honoured Guests
Throughout my artistic journey, I have been fortunate to meet and share my work with many respected individuals. This includes government ministers, renowned actors, celebrated artists, and other dignitaries who have shown great appreciation for my art.
In the Media
I am grateful for the media coverage my work has received over the years. This includes features in prominent newspapers like Lokmat, Sakal, and Loksatta, as well as interviews on podcasts and features in documentaries about my artistic journey.
About the Artist
A few portraits that give you a glimpse of me, Rajesh Sawant. My art is an extension of who I am, and I am grateful to be able to share my passion with the world.
