About

I teach Okinawan Kobudo, an old-school martial art from Okinawa that’s all about learning to use traditional weapons the right way. It’s not for show or to look cool on Instagram. For me, it’s about focus, discipline and slowly building real skill. You don’t just swing a stick around - you pay attention to detail, to where your feet go, how you move, what your mind is doing.

Where I Come From

I train and teach in the Jinbukan Kobudo lineage, which means everything I share comes straight from Okinawa, not watered down. We’re part of the Shorin-ryu Seibukan family, under Grand Master Zenpo Shimabukuro. If you care about learning the real thing, not some made-up version, you’ll get it here.

What You’ll Learn

  • Bo staff training for beginners and up - six-foot stick, sounds simple, but it’s not.
  • Tonfa techniques in martial arts - those handled batons you’ve seen, tough to master but super effective.
  • Loads of focus on kata (the set sequences) because that’s where you really get good.
  • Uniform is black gi, white pants. Not just for looks - it’s part of respecting the art.

What Matters Here

It’s hard work. You’ll be graded, you’ll earn certificates, but only if you put in the effort. I go by the Dojo Kun - stuff like honesty, respect, effort. No shortcuts. If you’re serious about learning traditional Okinawan weapons kata and want something real, I’m here for you.

My Story

I’m Sensei here, teaching Shorin-Ryu Seibukan karate, straight from Okinawa roots. Been lucky—trained at Shuri Castle, learned from Grand Master Zenpo Shimabukuro himself. What I picked up there, I bring right into my dojo. Karate for me isn’t just punching and kicking. It’s about growing as a person, sticking to truth, and putting in real effort. That’s what I try to pass on to anyone who steps in.

My Work
