We design educational buildings and campuses that use local materials, natural light, and informal gathering spaces, always fitting new structures to the campus context and focusing on practical, student-friendly layouts.

About

Our design work always starts with a simple thought: a building should feel like it belongs, without screaming for attention. I see architecture as a quiet but powerful presence, especially in educational spaces where students and teachers spend so much of their life.

How I Approach Educational Spaces

  • Every school, college, or campus I design is about more than just classrooms. I focus on creating informal hangout spots—think open courtyards, shaded corridors, or those nooks where you end up having the best conversations.
  • I love bringing the outside in—using existing trees, open green courts, and letting natural light in wherever possible. The idea is to make spaces feel calm and boost everyday creativity.

Making Every Building Feel Welcoming

  • I try to keep a human scale so nothing feels too big or intimidating, especially for younger students. Sloping roofs and open terraces are my go-tos.
  • My projects avoid copying old designs blindly. I pay attention to the original vibe of a campus (like at IIM Bangalore) but always find a way for new buildings to fit in without losing their own character.

Practical Details That Matter

  • I always aim for sustainable campus architecture: north-south orientation, natural ventilation, and materials like local stone or brick that work well in our climate.
  • I enjoy designing for all parts of the campus—master planning big universities, creative studios, even hostels that feel more like homes.
  • Movement and connection are key, so you’ll see central walkways, open staircases, and spaces that invite students to mingle.

If you care about learning environment design or want student-centric spaces that are practical and welcoming, that’s right up my alley.

My Story

Twenty years and counting, Mindspace is just a bunch of us, architects and dreamers, trying to make spaces feel alive. Our roots go deep with places like IIM Bangalore - Sanjay and Medappa have been at it since before Mindspace was even a thing. We learn by watching, by wandering through forts and temples, by listening to people move through their world. It’s not about loud statements, more about fitting in quietly, finding our corner in the bigger picture. We keep growing, together.

My Work

Campus and Institutional Design - We handle big projects - campus master planning, hostels, classrooms, dining halls, and more.

Humane Architecture - Our spaces are made for people, with courtyards and spillover zones to spark community and connection.

Context Driven Approach - We study every detail of existing buildings, blending new design with old, always respecting the vibe.

Material and Form - Love exposed concrete, stone, and subtle details. Each building gets its own quiet, contemporary identity.
