Custom-Made Sitars
I build sitars in all major styles, including Ravi Shankar, Ustad Vilayat Khan, and Nikhil Banerjee. Each sitar is handmade from seasoned Teakwood or Tunwood, with options for studio, travel, and even left-handed models to match your personal style.
Tanpuras and Tanpuris
The tanpura is the soul of Indian music, and we craft them with the respect they deserve. We make male, female, and smaller tanpuri models, and can customize the tuning for a vocalist's specific range. We offer traditional gourd tanpuras as well as flat-back wooden versions.
Electric Sitars (Zitars)
This is my innovation, the Zitar, for musicians looking to explore new sounds. Inspired by the legendary Niladri Kumar, these are solid-body electric sitars made from Tunwood with high-quality Seymour Duncan pickups. They come in many solid colors and are perfect for fusion, rock, and electronic music.
Specialized Instruments: Surbahar, Rudra Veena & More
Beyond sitars and tanpuras, we continue our family's tradition of making other rare and beautiful Indian string instruments. This includes the majestic Surbahar (bass sitar), the ancient Rudra Veena, the Swarmandal, and the Vichitra Veena, each crafted with historical accuracy and care.

Our family has been making instruments in Miraj since 1850. This is more than a business; it is in our blood. Here is a look at the hands-on process, from carving the wood to the final tuning, all happening in our workshop in the musical city of Miraj.
