This is the first impression of my work. It is a curated selection that captures the essence of our philosophy: a deep, investigative process that seeks balance between the built form and its natural or historical context. Each project is a story of discovery, craftsmanship, and a search for equilibrium.
Adaptive Reuse: The Archaeology of Space
We approach old buildings not as blank slates, but as historical sites rich with memory. Our work is a form of archaeology, a patient process of uncovering, examining, and retrofitting structures to give them a new life that respects their past. This is best seen in our transformation of a 147 year old ice factory into the IF.BE art and culture space.
Residential Sanctuaries: Harmony with Nature
We design homes not as objects, but as extensions of their environment. Our process involves a deep reading of the site, preserving natural features like trees and slopes, and using local materials to create residences in Karjat, Alibaug, and beyond that exist in true harmony with nature.
The Art of Making: Material & Craft
We are obsessed with the process of making and the honest expression of materials. Our work often involves reviving traditional construction methods, whether it's building with solid sandstone in Jaipur or crafting intricate timber frames, to ensure a level of quality and soul that is palpable in the final structure.
Our Philosophy & Process
We see ourselves not as authors, but as catalysts and custodians searching for balance. Our four decade old practice is built on listening to the site, whether it's a historic building or a piece of land, and allowing the design to evolve through a hands on, reflexive process.
