The annual kite festival, while celebrated, has a devastating impact on urban birds due to glass-coated strings (manja). I work tirelessly with local authorities to rescue entangled birds of prey like Black Kites and Barn Owls, providing them with the necessary care to hopefully fly again.

Mumbai's coastline is a fragile ecosystem with its own unique inhabitants, including several species of sea snakes. Unfortunately, many are harmed as bycatch from fishing activities. My work here involves documenting these animals, rescuing them when possible, and raising awareness about their plight.

From Rescue to Release

A successful rescue doesn't end with capturing the animal. The final, crucial step is releasing it back into a suitable natural habitat. I carefully select release sites that are away from human settlements to ensure the animal can thrive and to prevent future conflict.
