This is the first impression, a curated glimpse into our world. It balances breathtaking finished projects with the raw, hands-on process that defines our work, showcasing our versatility across different environments from serene mountains to bustling cities.
Himalayan Sanctuaries: Uttarakhand
This collection showcases our work creating remote mountain lodges in the Kumaon region of the Himalayas. We use locally sourced stone and reclaimed deodar wood, working with the topography to design structures that can withstand heavy snow while blending seamlessly into the breathtaking landscape.
Coastal & Tropical Retreats: Zanzibar & Bali
Our work in tropical climates like Zanzibar and Bali is about creating porous, breathable spaces that embrace the outdoors. We use local materials like coral stone and makuti thatch, and design for passive cooling, natural light, and seamless transitions between indoor living and lush, wild landscapes.
Urban Dining Experiences: Mumbai
In a dense urban environment like Mumbai, we design hospitality spaces that offer a sense of drama and escape. Our work on restaurants like Otra and Americano focuses on creating immersive atmospheres through moody lighting, rich material palettes, and custom-designed details, from hand-carved entrances to bespoke brass fixtures.
The Design Process: From Concept to Craft
Our process is hands-on and material-focused. We believe in testing ideas at full scale, getting our hands dirty with materials, and collaborating closely with artisans. This collection offers a behind-the-scenes look at our site mock-ups, material studies, and workshop visits that are fundamental to our practice.
Exhibition & Curation
Our design thinking extends beyond buildings to the scale of curated experiences. For Studio Renn's jewelry exhibitions, we created transient landscapes using unconventional materials like raw cotton bales to explore the relationship between the primal and the precious.
As Seen In: Press & Recognition
We are grateful to have our work and design philosophy featured by respected publications like Architectural Digest and the Financial Times. This recognition is a reflection of our team's commitment to creating meaningful spaces and the wonderful collaborations we have with our clients and partners.
