This is the first thing you see, a glimpse into the heart of my craft. It shows the journey from my hands to yours, from a piece of wood to a dancing puppet. This is the magic of Kathputli that I want to share with everyone.
The Traditional Puppet Making Journey
This is not a short course. We go deep into the art, starting with a block of wood and ending with a puppet that has a soul. You will learn everything: wood carving, making the face with papier-mâché, painting, costume making, and finally giving it life by stringing it.
Puppetry Workshops for Schools & Groups
I love teaching our art to the younger generation and groups of all kinds. These workshops are full of fun and everyone gets to make their own simple puppet to take home. We can hold them at schools, art centers, or for any group that wants to learn.
Kathputli on the World Stage
My puppets and I have traveled far and wide to share the stories of our ancestors. From local schools to international festivals, we perform to keep our parampara, our tradition, alive for everyone to see.
A Word from the Artist
People sometimes say my art is dying, but I do not believe it. Art never dies, people do. This is my mission, my life's work, to make sure this beautiful tradition stays in our hearts and in our hands for generations to come.
