About Homemade Gujarati & Jain Food
Real Home Food, Just Like Maa Makes
I run Vama's Kitchen with my mom, and for us, food is all about warmth and tradition. Everything comes straight from our home kitchen, using recipes that have been in our family for years. If you’re missing that 'maa ke haath ka khana' (food made by a mother’s hands), you’ll find it here.
Pure Veg & Jain-Compliant
We only make vegetarian food, and we’re super careful about Jain rules. No onion, no garlic, and everything is Jain anurup (Jain-compliant). During Paryushan, I put together a special menu that changes daily, but you’ll need to let me know a day before since it’s all made fresh.
Ghar Jaisa Khaana, All Year
Our menu changes with the seasons. In winter, you’ll find Undhiyu (I even freeze it for you), Bajra Rotlo, and Baigan Bharta. Summer means Aam Raas with hot puris. I also make all-time favourites like Pav Bhaji and Ragda Pattice. If you’re looking for an authentic Gujarati thali, you’ll get that homely vibe here.
Snacks & Mithai, Always Fresh
From soft Khandvi and fluffy Dhokla to crispy Samosas, Kachoris, and Handvo, I’ve got your snack cravings sorted. For travel, my vacuum-packed Theplas and homemade farsan snacks are super handy. And yes, there’s always freshly made mithai - classics like Besan Ladoo and Mohanthal, plus some fun experiments like Waffle Pizza and Fortune Waffles.
Made to Order, No Stock
I don’t keep anything ready-made. Every order starts fresh, so you always get food that’s just been cooked, not sitting on a shelf.

My Story
Hi, welcome to our kitchen! We’re a mother-daughter duo, cooking together since 2001 right from Vile Parle. Recipes? All from maa ke haath ka (mom’s hands) tradition, pure vegetarian and Jain. We love being part of your celebrations, whether it’s 400 theplas for a party or daily meals. Once, made heaps of theplas, then rushed to vote – food and values, always together. That’s us, Vama’s Kitchen.
