About Live Performance & Band Coaching
Why We Do What We Do
Music’s more than just notes and chords for us. It’s about sharing, connecting, and feeling that rush when you play for someone else. We see how performing lifts people up, and honestly, it’s not always about playing every note right - it’s about making the moment count.
Band Life Starts Here
If you’ve ever wanted to jam with others, this is your spot. We help you find your bandmates, set up group music performance coaching sessions, and get you into the groove of playing together. You’ll get to try everything from Goan masala tracks to Bollywood classics and Western pop. Sometimes, we mix it all up - you never know what’s coming next.
- We set up bands, duos, and ensembles for practice and gigs
- All gear sorted - amps, mics, keyboards, whatever you need
- You’ll learn band rehearsal techniques that actually work
Where You’ll Perform
We don’t just keep you in the classroom. You’ll get real stage time - from our ‘Togetherness Initiative’ at The Little Sisters of the Poor, to the ‘Star Quest’ competition, to local community events and school showcases. We want you to feel what it’s like to be out there, sharing your music.
Confidence On Stage
Stage fright? Happens to everyone. We work on stage presence training and audience engagement skills, so you can introduce your song, connect with the crowd, and own your performance. We’ve seen kids go from shy to shining in just a few months. That’s what we’re here for.

The Academy of Music
My Story
Hey, we’re The Academy of Music - music’s been our thing since 1990. Mrs. Samantha D’Costa, our principal, got a shoutout from Trinity College London for two decades of arts work, which was pretty cool. We see music as more than notes, it’s about joy, discipline, and creativity. Our 'Togetherness Initiative' takes students to play for elders, mixing English classics and Hindi hits like 'Pal Pal Pal Pal.' Smiles everywhere, that’s what keeps us going.
My Work
Music Lessons for All Ages - We teach piano, guitar, keyboards, vocals - online or at home, kids and adults both welcome.
Trinity College Exam Coaching - We prep students for Trinity College music exams - Classical, Jazz, Rock & Pop, from Initial to Grade 8.
Performance Opportunities - Our students perform at school, church, and community events - confidence grows on stage.
Joyful Learning - It’s not just about exams. We help students master pieces they love, just for the fun of it.
