About

I see Kathak as more than dance - it's a way to find satisfaction and contentment, a moving meditation that helps me keep my head straight. Not going to lie, sometimes it's tough. You sweat, you stumble, but then you hit that moment of pure bliss - that's when it all makes sense. For me, this art is rooted in Indian tradition, but it’s also about finding your own path.

What Happens in Class

We don't just count steps. I bring in drama, rhythm, speed, poetry, and a bit of history. You’ll see how storytelling through movement is at the heart of Kathak. Sometimes it gets mathematical - those rhythm patterns can twist your brain! But there’s beauty in that challenge.

  • ShastraInMotion: We take old texts and make them move. Feels pretty cool when you get the hang of it.

Who Can Join

If you’re a total newbie or your feet just tap when you hear music, come through. Kids, adults, even folks who've danced before but lost touch - there's space for everyone. I welcome anyone wanting to connect with Indian classical dance for beginners or those chasing mindfulness in Kathak practice.

How We Learn

  • In-person classes across Bengaluru: Jayanagar, Indiranagar, NR Colony, Banashankari. Studio vibes, group energy.
  • Online classes too: You can join from anywhere, group options for beginners and for those who’ve got at least 2 years under their belt.

What You Leave With

We start with the basics, build up your rhythm, and work on grace. Kathak’s not about being perfect - it’s about connecting deeper with yourself. You’ll get stronger, but mostly, you’ll find a bit of stillness in all that movement.

My Story

Namaste, I’m Sharat Prabhath. Art runs in my veins—my family’s been living it for centuries. My dad taught me more than just dance and music; he gave me bhakti, real devotion. I’ve had some wild, goosebump moments, like narrating Harikatha in Melkote when the story and real life just collided. Now, with my Ankita name ‘Rasikapriya Sri Krishna Vittala,’ I’m stepping deeper into composing as a Haridasa. I just hope I live up to this blessing.

My Work

What I Do - I perform Harikatha, teach Kathak dance (online/offline), offer Karnatic vocal classes, compose and choreograph for stage.

Harikatha for Today - I share stories from our epics, making them click for modern folks—like finding hope in tough times.

Multimedia Dance Productions - With my brother, we mix tradition and tech—think 3D visuals and epic stories, all on stage.

Kathak & Thematic Music Composition - Dance and music tell the story. I play with taals and ragas to bring out the real rasa, the bliss.
