About

At M9 Design Studio, I look at buildings as more than just walls and roofs. For me, architecture is about making places that feel alive, where people and nature meet and shape each other. My designs don’t scream for attention - instead, I want them to quietly fit into their surroundings and serve everyone who comes by.

Design Principles

  • Nature always finds its way in my work. You’ll see landscaped courtyards, green roofs, sometimes a bio-pond. I follow a biophilic design approach, letting the outside flow into the inside.
  • I carve out those in-between spaces - shaded lobbies, shared courtyards, spots where folks can hang out or just be. Architecture should help people connect and feel part of something.
  • Flexible spatial layouts are key. The world changes, so the spaces I design can shift and grow too.
  • Every project tells a story. Whether it’s a cultural memorial or a modern office, I try to bring out the history, emotion, and legacy in every place.

Real-World Projects

  • For the Dr. Vishnuvardhan Memorial, I used a curved brick jali wall, making a shaded spot for people to meet, eat, and learn. It’s now full of life, with local kids using the space for dance and community activities.
  • The MSR Tower in Bangalore pulls from the city’s garden vibe, with shaded courts and kinetic facades so folks can control the sunlight. Offices don’t have to be dull.
  • In Pune, I designed a clubhouse with undulating balconies, giving people private, shaded spots to soak in the views. The site is dotted with native flowers and bio-ponds, blending sports and leisure with nature.

What Sets Us Apart

I mix traditional brick with concrete and steel for warmth and clarity. Sustainability is always on my mind - I use passive cooling techniques, natural light, and smart layouts to keep things comfortable and energy-efficient.

Recognition

My work’s been lucky enough to get noticed internationally. The Kharkiv Freedom Square project won a global design competition, and some of my ideas have been featured in Harvard’s “Architectures of Transition.” For me, these are just small signs that I’m on the right track.

My Story

Hey, we’re M9 Design Studio, and for us, architecture isn’t just putting up walls. It’s letting nature sneak in, like Geoffrey Bawa did—quiet, blended, always changing. You’ll see bits of Kutch’s Lipan Kaam in our work, mud and mirrors telling stories. Awards are cool, sure, but what really sticks is seeing kids dancing in a space we dreamed up. That’s when a building feels alive.

My Work

What We Do - Architecture, masterplanning, interiors for homes and offices, product design inspired by traditional crafts.

Design Philosophy - Every project is a story. We want spaces to spark community and be living canvases.

Nature Integrated Spaces - We do slow architecture—spaces that blend into landscapes, not fight them.

The 'In Between' Spots - Courtyards, lobbies, pathways—these shared pockets are where real connections happen.

Materials We Love - Steel, brick, lime plaster, Kota stone—always picking what feels right for the space.
