I run easygoing outdoor watercolor workshops in Cubbon Park for beginners, where we paint, snack, and hang out together—no art experience needed.

About

Painting outdoors is my way to slow down, breathe, and just be. I'm Basit, and honestly, I started these watercolor picnics because I know how scary blank pages can feel, especially when you’re new. So if you’ve never held a brush, or you’re just craving a break from the usual, this is your safe space.

What’s a Watercolour Picnic?

It’s a chill, two-day art hangout in Cubbon Park, Bengaluru. Forget those intimidating studios - here, we sit on the grass, munch on snacks, and paint whatever catches our eye. It’s about finding joy in the small things, like painting fallen flowers or just being silly with new friends. Think of it as an outdoor watercolor class mixed with a picnic, not a serious art bootcamp.

Who’s it for?

  • Absolute beginners (swear, zero art background needed)
  • Anyone wanting a creative, easy weekend
  • Folks wanting to meet cool, artsy people

What happens over two days?

  • Day 1: We open our tiny welcome kits, mess around with brushes, try out basic strokes, and paint little treasures we find around. There’s a snack break and a chance to share your mini masterpieces.
  • Day 2: We try our hand at painting the park itself. I’ll walk you through sketching and coloring a simple landscape. No pressure, just step-by-step chill vibes. We end with a mini art circle. Njngal pwoliyalle guys? (Aren't we cool, guys?)

What to bring?

  • I’ve got paper, welcome kits, and a couple of surprises.
  • You bring your own paints, brushes, water cup, and tissue - nothing fancy needed.

Honestly, this isn’t about perfect art. It’s about enjoying the process and the company. Sketching chalein? (Shall we go sketching?)

My Story

Hey, I’m Basit. Kerala roots, now in Bangalore, chasing art wherever I go. Didn’t get to do fancy art school – YouTube was my guru. I sucked at first, but kept sketching, kept messing up, kept going. Sunsets at Kozhikode, crowded flower markets, my own messy studio – all end up in my sketchbook. I travel, I paint, I heal, I stumble. Art is how I find my quiet and connect with folks. That’s me, in a nutshell.
