Winning in badminton isn’t just about technique - it’s about building a complete athlete. I started bringing yoga into our academy training because I’ve seen how much it helps my players, boys and girls both. This isn’t just stretching or chilling out, it’s real work for real results.

What Goes Down in Yoga Sessions

We do group yoga sessions at the academy, mixed with our regular drills. Here’s what we actually do:

  • Asanas (yoga poses) like Vrikshasana to improve balance and make the body nimble.
  • Flexibility training for sports, so kids can stretch for tough shots and avoid those annoying muscle pulls.
  • Meditation and focus work. I always tell my players, “ek second, maarna” (wait a second, hit it) - that cool, calm mind helps you decide fast on court.

  • Core strengthening yoga for players, boosting smashes and jumps

My Story

Namaste, I’m A.K. Shandilya. Badminton is not just my job, it’s my jaan (life). I’m NS-NIS and BWF level 1 certified, but what really matters is seeing my students win medals—feels like I’m winning too. We’re not just a coaching class, we’re the AKS Team, like a family. Teacher’s day, Diwali, New Year—we celebrate together. Discipline and hard work, that’s my mantra. One step at a time, that’s how champs are made.
