About Therapeutic Storytelling & Literacy Programs for Children
Stories changed my life, and now I get to share that magic with kids who need it most. When I was young, stories were my escape from tough times. I saw myself in the characters—sometimes lost, but always finding a way out. That feeling is what drives me to create spaces where children, especially those facing trauma, can heal and dream again.
What Makes Our Approach Different
- We build what we call 'Imagination Havens'—colorful, cozy libraries in places like orphanages and shelters. These aren’t just rooms with books. They’re safe reading spaces for vulnerable children, filled with art, soft corners, and that feeling you get when you know you belong.
- Each week, trained storytellers visit. They don’t just read; they act, use puppets, and bring stories alive. The room fills with laughter, questions, and sometimes a moment of quiet reflection.
- We pick every book with intention, using our own system that matches stories to what a child might need—courage, kindness, a bit of hope.
Beyond the Page
- After stories, we do hands-on activities—arts and crafts, doodling dreams, or simple acts of kindness. These creative arts story workshops help kids process and express what they’re feeling.
- For kids with disabilities, we make sessions fully accessible—using sign language, touch, and expressive visuals. Healing through narrative therapy isn’t about words alone.
I’ve seen kids light up when they realize their story isn’t over, and that’s why I keep doing this.

My Story
Stories saved me, honestly. Childhood was rough, books were my escape hatch. The hero always found a way out, yeah? That stuck. Fifteen years back, I quit my corporate gig and started Bookwallah. We give kids who've seen too much the magic of stories, so they can dream up new worlds too. This work? Feels like my own circle is complete—helping kids find their own brave endings.
My Work
