Our aerodynamic body suits are built for Mumbai’s climate and the serious demands of competitive skating. We use lightweight, sweat-wicking materials because, during those intense road rallies at Marine Drive or track heats in Mazgaon, every gram counts. When our students put on this suit, they switch into a focused mindset, which is essential for the discipline we have been teaching here since 1989. For us at Zia’s Academy, the 'Roll, Race, Rise' gear represents more than just a brand. It is about the transformation from a beginner to a competitive skater. Whether you are prepping for the annual speed skating championship or just hitting the pavement for weekend drills, the right apparel affects your range of motion and overall comfort. ### Why Specialized Gear Matters Skating at high speeds—especially during our 200m to 1000m endurance training—creates wind drag. Our suits minimize that resistance. They are designed to stay in place during sprints, ensuring that our skaters do not get distracted by loose fabric while pushing for a personal best. It helps in maintaining that critical aerodynamic posture required for speed skating. ### A Visual Legacy Our skaters are part of a lineage that spans decades. When we see our students at St. Mary’s ICSE or on the roads of Ballard Pier wearing the same crest that our earliest students wore, it reinforces a sense of family. It is a visual reminder that they are training with Mumbai’s oldest skating academy, surrounded by peers who share the same drive to win. ### Getting Started Do you need custom gear? Our coaches advise on when to transition from regular practice clothes to competition-grade body suits. It is part of the progression we track for every student, ensuring you are equipped properly for the stage of skating you are currently in. ## About Zia's Academy I started Zia’s Academy in 1989 because I loved the freedom of wheels, and that hasn't changed. Today, my son Afzal and I focus on building champions, but honestly, seeing our students beam with pride in their academy gear is just as rewarding as any medal.
